My paintings are meant to convey a mood-usually contemplative and/or happy, while at the same time alluding to the complexity of life. I have been working on my own style for over 40 years, building up a personal language of layers. My unique view of the world is presented through layers of color, shape, and texture. I “paint” my canvases with brushes, rags, stamps, stencils, and my bare hands, often incorporating old music, newspaper, book pages, and maps.
My style of Modern Realism was influenced from a very young age by the likes of Picasso, Matisse, and Chagall, to name just a few. I paint because it’s my passion. It is another dimension within which I can communicate, and my soul is free when I am in my warm and sunny studio.
