Brittney Wegener is an artist living in North Mankato, while attending MNSU for a BFA in Sculpture. Brittney Studies under the inspirational Amy Toscani.
Brittney has been featured in many juried shows, as well as placing her art in coffee shops. Upcoming she will be showing work at the River Hills hotel in September 2018. While entered into a juried show this year she was awarded best in show and honorable mention.
Finding her inspiration for Sculpture from the world around her. She picks up materials on her walks, at dumpsters, and in moments of aww. Many of her works are purely material based, although she does dip into making statements of culture, politics, and her own spiritual beliefs.
When painting she typically starts by making random strokes and seeing what she can create out of those. She is inspired by a variety of painters, so it would be hard to nail down just exactly who she resembles as she has many styles.
Brittney, also enjoys creating jewelry, mainly specifying in earings which she uses as a practice to mediate and release from her daily life. Although many different beads and other items are fun, is using stones are her favorite.
