Lets take a trip together through space and time.
Currently I'm a period of reflection as is often the case as we approach a new year once more.
I have more than one internet presense really but I had the wild idea to make greater use of MNArtists.org as sort of long term base of operations. Thus I concieved of a solution of just what should one put up on here? Truth be told I have oodles and oodels of old portfolios. Why not do a macro portfolio?
A little bit each day we add more past work into the mix until at some point it reaches critical mass (or something like that sounding suitably impressive). I understand that sometimes you want such things to be more focused but there is a certain logic to approaching this site differently.
You see what we are demonstrating here is the long term nature of the artistic production. In reviewing the submitted materials for a given "opportunity" the rest is the backstory so to speak. Who you are showing in terms of the long term track record.
Plus at this juncture as a relative unknown we think it might be wise to experiment just a bit with the presentation.
Thus you have the autobiographical approach. Don't mistake it for a lack of focus rather accept it for what it is. The result of a worldview that tends to the macro level. It's existential in some ways.
We approach this as the resume of the artistic side and thus forgo the work we do to pay the bills.
